Each morning, Oliver Mouse studies the atmospheric conditions in Hazel Village and hoists the proper Weather Flags up the flagpole of the Lodge. The choices of flag are: Sunny, Cloudy, Rainy, Snowy, Lightning, Windy, Hot, Warm, Just Right, Cool, and Cold.

This excellent coat keeps Oliver well protected in case of inclement weather. It is made from stormy gray and black wool in a classic herringbone weave. There are two big patch pockets, two offset shell buttons (stitched on with red accent thread), and a deep hood with a wide brim to shield Oliver’s head from rain. The red cotton tassel is a charming adornment which also functions as a wind indicator – if the other animals look out their windows on blustery days and see Oliver wearing his coat, the tassel will tell them whether it is perfect kite-flying weather or perhaps better to stay indoors.
